Short answer
A finished perfume bottle has five parts: the glass bottle, the spray pump with its dip tube, the collar (or overcap) that hides the pump crimp, the cap, and the outer box with an insert. Each part has its own supplier and specifications, and they must share one neck size to fit together.
The parts and what to specify
| Part | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Glass bottle | Capacity (ml), neck size and type, glass colour, weight |
| Spray pump | Neck size, crimp or screw, finish colour, dip tube length |
| Collar / overcap | Finish (gold, silver, black), material (aluminium, plastic) |
| Cap | Style, material (zamac, Surlyn, wood, resin), inner diameter |
| Box and insert | Box style, inner size, insert material, print finish |
Why buying parts separately goes wrong
The most common problems are a cap that does not clear the pump collar, a dip tube that is too short, and a box insert cut for the wrong bottle. Ordering all parts as one checked set avoids them. Browse bottles, pumps and caps by neck size.
Frequently asked questions
What is the collar on a perfume bottle?
The collar is the metal or plastic ring that covers the crimped pump at the neck, giving the bottle a clean finish under the cap.
Does the dip tube length matter?
Yes. It must reach the bottom of the bottle so the last drops can be sprayed. It is cut to each bottle height.
